Happy New Year!
I’m definitely going to be posting a Christmas
wrap up post of some sort…but wanted to get some
other posts up while they are still fresh in my mind.
One of my favorite
memories growing up was
being able to go with
my dad to work. He didn’t
regularly have to
work weekends or anything, but
on some occasions, he
would head into the office
on a random
Saturday. He worked in insurance – and stepping
into his office – was
like going to the playground.
I think I have
professed my love of office supplies
on here before – but man
– forms in triplicate?
typewriters? A phone I could pretend to answer?
Post it notes? Good lord – it was paradise.
Well, over Christmas
break I had the chance to
bring Max to my
office…well, classroom if you’re
getting technical –
but none-the-less, he came to work
with me. It’s sort of surreal when I see myself
doing the same things
my parents did with my own child.
Like, it cements in
my mind that I’m actually an adult.
in total probably took
an hour…but he was loving it.
At first, I tried to
keep him occupied with random
things in the room –
but it turns out he was super
into actually being helpful.
He got to do such
tasks as
“sweeping” the floors,
wiping down the cage
trays,
getting more hay for
our mammals,
giving the chinchilla’s
dust baths,
feeding the fish,
And, as a reward – I let
him hold our
Classroom bunny
rabbit, Beatrice.
He loves this bunny.
each time he pets her
– he shows
such care and concern….it’s
super cute!
After the first time
we went – I wasn’t sure if he
would want to
continue coming with me in the mornings –
But, he did! What a treat to have my little buddy
working along side of
me!
xoxo
