Let's just say that it hasn't been hard shopping for baby boy! While I still maintain that girl stuff gets the most real estate in retail stores...there is lots of cute boy stuff to be bought. Between hand me downs from friends, Baby Gap (I mean honestly, their stuff is the cutest...but wait until it goes on sale!), Target, Carters (great sales!), and even thrift stores...Baby Boy Hauck has a LOT of stylish clothes. About a month or so ago, my mom and I did about 10 loads of laundry and she did a great job of organizing them while I just sort of hovered around (like holy crap where is all this going to go and how much clothing does this baby need?). I brought all of the clothes home and then promptly forgot how they were organized. So, I stuffed them into the armoire to be dealt with later. Then, my awesome co-worker gave me a HUGE bag of boy clothes sized from about 0-6 months. This bag contained some real gems - a Star Wars onesie and a huge assortment of plaid overalls. I was in love! Rob loved everything minus the Steelers jerseys and tees. He said that our children would only be supporting the Browns, Indians, and OSU/Oregon Ducks :) Totally fine with me! After washing all those clothes...I literally had a melt down thinking about how I was going to organize everything. Grams Cloud to the rescue!
She refolded everything...including the newly washed stuff. We put some stuff on hangers (sleep sacks), coats, and other outerwear. The rest is folded by size/season etc. Probably it will last like this for about two days...and then the whirlwind of newborness will take over! Miss Pecan Sandy also felt it necessary to explore the contents of the armoire...I think it met with her approval.
Even all the hats got a place to live....how many hats does one child need?!
At the end of the night...everything was organized. I love that we took out the first shelf and put up a tension rod (thanks to Auntie Stacy for that idea). Can you seethe alligator bathrobe? I die everytime I see that! So precious! Thanks Grams for saving my sanity....and helping fold and sort all of the little man's clothes!
