Columbus Pumpkin Farms

Hope you're all having an amazing week...we are loving
every minute of October (the best month of the year)! The only problem?
The calendar always fills up fast this season - so we
started our pumpkin farm trips early.  It's hard to tell
whose more excited for these farm trips - Max or Mama?
When it comes to this first farm we visited - probably
Mama.  This place is called "The Orchard" - and it's
gotten even better since our visit last year.

Max spotted the tractors from the car and
took a spin (or three) on each of them...
we actually had to convince him to come off the
tractor and into the "kids area".
The best part of the kids area is the bounce pillow!
I love it because they invite parents to bounce too. :)
There is also a giant slide where you have to
climb up the built in tractor tires to get to the top.
This year, Max also wanted to try the kiddie zip line!
Papa Rob had to help of course but he hung
in there like champ!
I've already documented our family love for the
cider slushie - and those are readily available at
The Orchard too.  Sadly- I only bought one - and
upon letting Max hold it - he looked up at Papa Rob
and I and squealed "There's just enough for me"!
So long slushie. Thankfully, I also purchased a
pumpkin donut - which Papa Rob took care of :)
New this year at The Orchard were all the hay bales to
climb on.  Max had zero fears when it came to
scaling three stories worth of hay. Oh my!
We finished up our visit by enjoying a hayride
around the actual apple orchards, checking out the
cows in the pasture, seeing the animals in the barn,
and picking out a pumpkin (the only stipulation I
gave here was "you have to be able to carry it").

Our Sunday Funday included another pumpkin
farm visit.  We are honestly so lucky that Columbus
has so many family friendly farms.  This was a new to us
spot called "Leeds Farm" - and it was awesome!

I heard Rob describing pumpkin farm visits to Grandpa
Jim the other week on the phone and he said, "it's
not just picking a pumpkin - it's like an EVENT".
He was not wrong. Literally, it's less about the
pumpkins at these places and more about the fun!
They had a barrel train, zip line (both big and small),
horse drawn carriage, bounce pillow, pig races,
combine slide, and corn pit.
Leeds Farm had outdoor and indoor slides.
The slides (seen in the below picture) were Max's
favorite.  He would climb up the hay bales, slide
down the tubes, and run by us for a sip of slushie.
I swear he probably did this 20 times.
And, these slides are surprisingly fast - he
really zoomed down them!
Leeds had plenty of cute picture opportunities...
my favorite was the little pumpkin house below.
Max blew through there and could only
be convinced to stop when it meant using my
phone to take a picture.

Max captured Papa Rob and me (see below) in
front of the pumpkin house. Sidenote:  He managed
to get this pose from us 168 times because he loves
to just hold his finger down on the shutter button.
Our only picture with the three of us - and my new
favorite can be found below. Max just loves to
put his face in all of those cut outs. And I'm
not going to complain one bit ....because the picture
turned out pretty cute! :)
Honestly, I knew with traveling for a week in mid October
that we would have to work hard to cram in the fall fun early and
I think we accomplished that!  But, I still have a few more
surprises for Max in store! Stay tuned!  :)

xoxo
