Well our weekend kicked off early last week...because Mr. Max spent his first night away
from Papa Rob and Mama on Thursday. Truth we told we were having some work
done on our kitchen faucet (a new one!) and we were worried that it would go late (it did) and
cut into his bedtime routine. Auntie Stacy offered up her house as a place of refuge but
in the end we decided to let my parents take him home a day early (Auntie Stacy and I were driving down the next day). I'm not sure who was more nervous...Papa Rob (definitely him) or my parents.
We decided to ease our nerves by going out to dinner and orderin up some alcohol! haha!
But seriously - it was actually really nice to have some one on one time with my Mr.
Our day to day is so focused on Max that we hardly ever make special time for each other.
We had several hours to just focus on each other (even though we kept
exclaiming how much we missed Max :)
(not sure why I have a crazy half eye in the above picture....
but it sure was great to get out and about!)
The next day my parents sent us lots of pictures of their adventures with Max.
Safe to say they all had a great time (even if it was a rough night...thunder, lightening,
and a coughing/gassy baby). They even took him to their booth at Antiques Village! I'm
sure he drove lots of business to their booth just being so dang cute :)
Grandmim and Grandpa Tim got a pretty good feel for what
meals are like around here these days...meaning food on the face, floor, high chair,
and every where in between! At one point Max even took one of his pouches and squirted
it everywhere (much to Grandmim's chagrin). But, how can you be mad when this
mug is staring back at you??
Auntie Stacy and Mama arrived on Friday. We had just enough time to
snuggle Max, play a bit, Facetime with Papa Rob, and do bath/bottle.
Then he was out...and slept ALL night (needed his momma's touch!)
Here we are on Saturday...we had lots of plans! Starting with a trip to see the Easter Bunny
at the local mall. You may be thinking - didn't you already take Max to see a real bunny
at Moto Photo? Why yes, we did. But, who am I to deny Max a trip to see the mall bunny too? This rabbit was super creepy too...he had on a crushed purple velvet top coat and wirey glasses. I was worried Max might flip out...but he could have cared less about the bunny.
He NEVER smiled but didn't really cry either...
Other mall fun included another train ride for Grandpa Tim and Max! He really loved it. Look at him holding out his tickets...he's totally a professional train rider. This time he would not really sit on Grandpa Tim's lap...he wanted to look out the window. It was so, SO cute!
After his afternoon nap, we went to see a long time friend of mine (Sarah) and her baby (Luke) for a little play date. It was too funny...the boys just kind of played around each other. Max would hold out a toy for Luke, and then immediately want it back. The highlight for me though was talking to another working momma about balancing everything (can it really be done?), growth charts, what our kids eat, and if we'll ever be ready for another one...
I'm so glad we connected again! The below picture would lead you to believe Max is older than Luke...but Luke is actually 14 months to Max's almost 11 :)
The rest of Saturday was filled with family time...and another round of bedtime routine for Max.
We woke up late Sunday (thanks Grandmim and Grandpa for taking care of Max)...and went to Bob Evans for lunch. Max gobbled an avacado and then proceeded to be a divo (AKA not wanting to sit in the high chair) and would rather be rotated from lap to lap like the prince he is.
Auntie Stacy and I drove home during his afternoon nap...and just in time to get a nice walk in with Papa Rob. I think he missed us :)
Family filled weekends are the best!
XoXO
