Oh man it's been awhile...and of course I have so much to say! The month of December was so good to us...lots of family, cookies (this surely wasn't helping my waistline), a trip to Arizona, and of course our first Christmas with Macho Max. When I last left you - we had just celebrated our family Christmas...and rest of December went something like this.
Monday December 23 - Hang with Max, go crazy making three different kinds of cookies
(pistachio cookies (my signature cookies), peanut blossoms, and m&m cookies). These were to take to my Mamaw's for Christmas eve.
(pictures taken on Christmas Eve - loving Max's red pants!)
Tuesday December 24 - Drive to Dayton during Max's first nap - arrive just before Auntie Stacy and then we all go to lunch at Chick-Fil-A for our annual holiday lunch. How this became a tradition I'm not sure...but I do love it. Christmas eve mass at St. Charles and then to Mamaw and Papaw's for Christmas with the Clouds!
(Christmas at Mamaw and Papaw's...digging into some presents!)
Wednesday December 25 - Merry Christmas! We open presents with my family, eat cinnamon rolls, Poppy comes over, we eat our "big" meal, open more presents...try to sneak in a nap. Rob goes home (sad face) and I stay one more night.
(Did I mention my family got matching pajamas? We did! Hilarious....from Walmart and personalized none the less. Unfortunately they felt like hospital scrubs and somehow they sent Papa Rob women's sizes... which made for an interesting fashion show).
(holy presents...I'm still trying to find places for all of them!)
(Here is Max opening a very lovely hand made present from Auntie Stacy....his very own lovey blanket! We're hoping he attaches to it real soon!)
(And oh yes...his new stuffed animal that I'm obsessed with...his name? Why, Sardine of course! It's a kitty that I desperately want Max to love!)
Thursday December 26 - Eat a quick lunch at Wendy's before hitting the road. Auntie Stacy drives Max and me home and offers to watch Max for a bit while Rob and I shuffle around each other and try to pack. I have three different lists and three different suitcases and after Auntie Stacy left - i had one major melt down. :( the holidays can be overwhelming...I will leave it at that. Thank goodness for Papa Rob and Auntie Stacy who helped get me through!
(Captured this photo of Auntie Stacy and Max on Christmas Day in the evening...I just love it. He adores her and I think the feeling is mutual).
Friday December 27 - January 2 - Fly to Arizona, celebrate Christmas one more time, shop the outlets like a mad woman (the deals! oh the deals!), and say see ya to 2013 with a great big New Years Eve bash! More details to follow on a separate post.
January 3 - adjust back to the Eastern Time Zone (no easy feat if your name is Max, Rob, and Carrie...though props to Papa Rob for jumping right in and going to work the next day on three hourse of sleep).
Our holiday was filled with so, SO many blessings..namely adding a baby to this fine family of ours seeing the holidays through his eyes.
