Thankful

During the month of November, I tried to be more
intentional about my thoughts...especially around the idea
of being thankful. We tried to have conversations with
Max about what exactly being "thankful" meant.  I would
say he understood about 60% of it...but mostly, if you asked
him what he was thankful for, he would look around
and describe something that he liked right in front
of him. But, that got me thinking - there is so much
good stuff right in front of me too ...so here is my
thankful list from November
...for the chance to spend Friday afternoons with
Max after a morning at Zoo Kids. And for
warm days throughout the month of November!
...for the amazing neighborhood parks all around us!
The City of Columbus does a wonderful job
making sure they are clean and safe!
...for my hair stylist (turned friend)...Halley.
She makes me feel beautiful...and seeing her
every 12 weeks is such a treat!
....for sisters who help make your quilt dreams a reality!
...for the chance to vote.  While I certainly have
thoughts on the election...I'm saving them for a
different post (or maybe not at all).
...for grandparents who take good care of Max.
And dogs that don't mind the constant
flurry of activity from a three year old.
...for baby animals at the Zoo!  (believe it or not,
this is one of four baby manatees that came to
live at the Zoo).
...for coffee. forever and always.

...for a little boy who loves arts and crafts...
and drawing...and glue...and scissors...and
googley eyes!
...for medicine to kick that ear infection once
and for all!  And the doctors who have walk
in appointments.
...for co-workers turned friends...who feel like family.
And that they humor my need to celebrate everything.
...for snuggles and cuddles...and a little boy
who loves to "relax and watch a show".
...for a daddy that makes our dinner food into silly
faces!  And buys new placemats!
...for our tumbling class and the new
challenges it brings. Being the youngest in a
bigger kid class is hard...but Max is doing
really great at listening and trying hard.
...for new friends and picnics at the park!
...for tea and the chance to sip it slowly after Max
goes to sleep
...for this creamer that doesn't give me stomach pains
...for our art wall
...for thank you notes from ZooKids and their parents
...for a fridge that is usually packed with food
and the pay check that allows us to purchase it.
...for old friends and the cutest new coffee shops.
...for the best sister/aunt you could ever ask for!

And not pictured, but always there - Rob.
The best partner I could ever ask for....truly...
my perfect match.

So much to be grateful for...and I didn't
have to look far at all. Thanks for the
reminder Max :)

xoxo
