So, I'm about three weeks late on these (if I were posting them on the 9th of every month
anyway) but better late than never...right?! To recap -
in an effort to remember the details of our lives during Max's third year,
I'm documenting some of our favorites each month.
Here is what Mama, Max (27 months), and Papa were into during August 2015.
(From left to right - Papa, Max, and Mama)
DRINKING: water from Tervis Tumblers, orange juice (every morning), and coffee
*he asks for orange juice and water every morning
EATING: lean cuisines, fruit rope, and Rice Crisps
*To clarify - Rob only eats Lean Cuisines when Mama's going out with friends,
most other nights, we all eat together ;)
LOVING: sleep cream, Mickey Mouse chair (thrift store find by Mims), and photobooth strips
MAKING: grocery lists, Lego trains, and Menu's
*Lately, I will menu plan and Rob will grocery shop while naps on Saturday or Sunday
READING: Pinterest pins, Owl Babies, and The Dirty Life
*Rob started a Board on Pinterest called "Carrie's Projects and made me a contributer!
**I changed up the wording in "Owl Babies" so that the mommy owl is going to "work"
and then comes home - it seriously seems to have helped Max understand that I have
to go to work, but I ALWAYS COME BACK.
WATCHING: History Channel (Ancient Aliens), Jake and the Neverland Pirates, and Bachelor in Paradise
*The amount of "Jake and Pirates" we have watched this month is unreal
WEARING: Slip on (Crocs!), Athletic Shorts (comfy pants), and summer dresses
*Rob would never admit he loves these crocs
**Max would choose athletic shorts over any other any day of the week
WORKING ON: keeping up with the yard work, making towers and tunnels, and scrapbooking
Potty training seems to be sticking with Max. He hasn't had an accident in a really long time.
He lets us know when he needs to go at night (which averages around two times a night).
Rob is usually the one who handles this. I think this is because while we were in Oregon, he did most the wake ups because I was having so many back issues. Max just got used to seeing him...so
that's who he is requesting (no complaints from Mama!).
I wish he would give up the pacifier...but I think that one is going to be harder. Ugh.
At the beginning of the month he was tearing up and crying nearly every time I left
him at daycare. Recently though, this has gotten much easier. I contribute this to
the book "Owl Babies" and also the fact that I have drilled into him that "mommy drops
off and daddy will pick you up". He pretty much repeats this verbatim (with his lip quivering)
each morning. However, when he talks about being there - he says he has fun, plays with toys, etc. so I think it's okay - just growing pains.
So far - the two's haven't been terrible - just exhausting :)
xoXO
