This is the face of two boys excited about getting twenty bags of mulch!
haha! Nothings says summer like mulch, right? But seriously -
we drove over to Lowes on Friday after work and loaded up the car and it's
frankly a miracle that it all fit in. I love all the flowers, I REALLY do - but
man mulching is a pain. And I didn't even do most of it!
Saturday morning we were all up bright and early! So early that we
managed to fit a trip to the grocery store in. It was kind of weird to go so early...but
also kind of awesome because no one else was there. And I treated myself to
Tim Horton's afterward...so win win for all!
The highlight of our Saturday was meeting up with my friend Lynn
and her son Will for a Zoo trip! Our boys are about six months apart in age...but
it's really never to early to force a friendship on them, right? The boys
did great considering it was super hot and super crowded. I felt like I was
constantly reapplying sunscreen, putting on Max's hat, or trying to get him to
keep his sunglasses on.
We managed to see a lot and even ate our packed lunches in
the new Africa restaurant. The boys had
practically the same lunch - pb&j sandwiches and bananas - and I mean,
if that doesn't spell besties, I don't know what does.
We left in time for the little ones to get their naps in...but I'm already looking
forward to our next trip!
Once Max got up from his nap - we decided to bust out the water tables!
We had one that we totally curb snatched last year...and then
a legit sand/water table from Costco. So once all that was set up...Max
was pretty much in summer heaven! He went from table to table...
and then down his slide! :)
He was having such a great time that we eventually had to put
his swimsuit and swim shirt because of all the splashing!
This little oasis in the backyard was perfect because we could all
hang out together...Papa Rob mulching and Mama working on her tan playing with Max!
By the end of the day we were all pretty sun kissed and tired :)
Sunday brought another walk around the neighborhood...while
Papa Rob finished up the mulching.
And then, the first of Papa Rob's birthday celebrations!
(Can you believe that hottie is turning 33?!)
Thank you to Auntie Stacy for hosting all of us!
This whole weekend made me so excited for summer!
Xoxo
